At Gatti, we create out fly
reels with the same performance standard, we apply to our fly
rods. They must be lightweight, offer flawless performance, and
distinguish themselves as a product that is a step above the
rest of the market. Through a combination of material choices,
precision engineering and careful craftsmanship, we are able to
offer reels that do just that.
Every Gatti reel is machined from a solid block of
aircraft-grade aluminum, using state-of-the-art machinery for a
flawless fit. All aluminum parts are hard anodized to a 50
micron depth and to a 62 Rockwell hardness to create a finish
that is comparable to tempered steel in hardness and abrasion
resistance. Through this process, we are able to create the
toughest, lightest precision anti-reverse reel available in
today's market.
Screws and other components are made from stainless steel and
brass, making our reels saltwater resistant. The smooth disc
drag is made from a combination of Teflon and Vulcolan, and is
resistant to temperatures up to 300 C. This superior drag allows
the fisherman the opportunity to chase fish many times larger
than other reels could handle, and to do with the confidence
that his or her reel will live up to the task.
When you look at a Gatti fly reel, you may think it looks simple
compared to many other reels on the market. In some ways this is
true. It does have fewer components than many reels, but fewer
components have fewer chances to fail. You will not find jewels
or heavy attachments on the reel to add to the weight, but you
will experience jewel-like precision performance. No banners, no
lights, no glowing additions, just pure, smooth, tough, flawless
performance
